Support Services Available

Health Services

Each campus has a Health Centre which is staffed by a registered nurse, with doctor’s appointments available by booking in advance.

Counselling Services

Niagara College offers Counselling Services for any student who may be experiencing stressful events in their life.

Library Services & Academic Support

The Library and Learning Commons at the Welland and Niagara-on-the-Lake campuses of Niagara College offers various resources for students including databases, journals, e-books, and e-videos. The Library & Learning Commons also offers services for students such as research guides, citation help, academic drop-in session, and accessible facilities, and resources for students with disabilities. The Peer Tutoring program at Niagara College offers academic support for students in a variety of courses for students at the Welland and Niagara-on-the-Lake campuses.

At Niagara College, academic advisors can provide information about programs, help students adjust to the demands of college life, advise students who are on academic probation, and much more.

Scholarships, Bursaries, and Awards

Niagara College's Financial Aid and Awards office offers a range of  financial assistance which consists of merit-based scholarships, need-based bursaries, and awards based on academic achievement. Residence and Housing

On-Campus Housing

Niagara College’s Residence Office offers apartment style accommodations for students at the Welland and Niagara-on-the-Lake campuses. Residence allocation operates on a lottery system with students being added to a waiting list if not initially accepted. Each apartment unit includes 2 private bedrooms, a shared washroom and a shared kitchenette. Building amenities include:

  • Common lounges
  • Common study rooms
  • Common kitchens
  • Access to a front desk
  • Maintenance
  • Laundry facilities

All rooms in residence come furnished and include internet access and local telephone service. Residence rates vary depending on the year, and payment plans are available. Meal plans are optional and can be purchased separately if desired.

To access appropriate accommodations and support in residence, students with special requirements must complete a Request for Special Consideration form, during the residence application process.

Off-Campus Housing

Niagara College offers an off-campus living service where landlords can advertise rental properties available.

Niagara Transit

Niagara Transit is comprised of buses. Full-time students at Niagara College do not receive a bus pass included in their tuition. Transit Bus Routes are provided for each of Niagara Transit buses. Niagara Transit conventional buses offer priority seating at the front of the bus for persons with disabilities.

The Chair-a-Van provides curb-to-curb transportation by appointment only for persons who are unable to use conventional transit due to physical, visual and cognitive challenges. Persons who require an attendant to travel with them, are able to have the attendant to travel free of charge.
